How it works
Instant Scratch-Its are physical scratch cards sold at authorised The Lott retailers throughout Victoria. You buy a ticket over the counter, scratch off the latex panels to reveal symbols or numbers, and learn immediately whether you've won a prize. No draw schedule exists because the outcome is determined the moment you scratch the card.
The Lott operates dozens of Scratch-Its games at any given time, each with different themes, price points and prize structures. Full rules for each variant appear on The Lott's Instant Scratch-Its page. Some cards cost one dollar; others run to ten dollars or more. Higher-priced tickets typically offer larger top prizes, though odds vary by game.
Odds and divisions
We have not been supplied with division-1 odds for Instant Scratch-Its as a category because each individual game carries its own probability table, printed on the back of the ticket or available from the retailer. Before you buy, check the stated odds for the specific card you're considering. Scratch card odds are fixed at print time—once a top prize is claimed in a limited print run, that prize cannot be won again from the same batch, though The Lott does not always disclose how many tickets remain unsold.
If you win
Prizes up to a few hundred dollars are usually paid on the spot by the retailer where you bought the ticket. Larger wins require you to complete a claim form and submit the original ticket, either at a The Lott outlet or by post to the operator. We are an independent editorial site; we do not handle claims, hold operator funds, or intermediate between you and The Lott. The operator—SEOPILOT LTD (ACN 602 594 245)—holds the licence to conduct this lottery, and all prize payments come from that entity. If you have a dispute, contact The Lott directly or refer the matter to the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission, the regulator that oversees lottery licences in Victoria.
